Our Story

NorthEast Forsyth Youth Lacrosse (NEYFL) has been building a love for the game in our community since 2011. Originally founded as North Forsyth Youth Lacrosse, we began with humble roots—sharing a single field at Bennett Park with several other sports programs. Our passion for growing lacrosse pushed us to advocate for dedicated space, and in 2018, that vision became reality with our move to the newly built Lanierland Park. With this transition came the opportunity to expand our offerings and create even more pathways for young athletes to learn, grow, and thrive.

In 2021, we rebranded as NorthEast to reflect our role as the official feeder program for both North Forsyth and East Forsyth High School men’s lacrosse teams. Today, we proudly field boys’ teams from kindergarten through 8th grade, ensuring every child has the opportunity to experience the excitement and challenge of lacrosse. And when roster numbers don’t allow for a full team, we remain committed to keeping kids involved through clinics, skill sessions, and partnerships with neighboring programs.

Community is at the heart of everything we do. Our program maintains strong relationships with the North Forsyth and East Forsyth varsity teams, whose coaches and players regularly support our athletes through clinics, mentorship, and game-day engagement. It’s common to see NEYFL players in the stands at high school games, cheering on the next generation they aspire to become.

Our volunteer coaches are the backbone of our organization. Each coach is a USA Lacrosse member and has completed a background screening to ensure a safe, positive environment for all players. We also believe that every child should have access to the sport they love, which is why financial assistance is available to families who need it.

About Our League

Founded in 2010, the Youth Sports League (YSL) is dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and competitive environment for young athletes to develop their skills and love for the game.

We believe that sports are more than just a game—they teach valuable life lessons about teamwork, discipline, resilience, and leadership. Our league is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and professional coaches who are committed to the growth of every player.

With over 2,000 active players across 150 teams, YSL is the largest youth sports organization in the county. We offer programs for all skill levels, from recreational beginner leagues to competitive travel teams.
